Professor Thomas von Arx is Vice Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland. His main areas of interest are apical microsurgery and oro-facial anatomy. Professor von Arx has presented over 500 lectures on all five continents and has authored or co-authored 170 papers (95 original contributions) and 8 book chapters. 

Apical microsurgery is his main field of clinical work and research. He has performed over 2000 apical surgery procedures during his career, and thus has an unparalleled level of clinical experience in this area. As such he is one of the most sought after presenters in the field of endodontic surgery.
