Congratulations to ADA NSW members Dr Neil Peppitt and Dr Ernest Chan for their service to Australian dentistry and to the health and wellbeing of the wider Australian community.

Awarded Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to dentistry, and to tertiary education.

Dr Peppitt was ADA NSW President from 2017-19 after serving in other prominent roles and committees for several years beforehand. He is also a former President of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and his many other notable roles include serving as Director with the Australian Dental Council, Chairman of the Dental Corporation’s Clinical Advisory Panel and Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. He has made an immense contribution to advancing oral health in Australia.

Awarded Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the community, and to dentistry.

Dr Chan was an ADA NSW committee member for more than 20 years and a long-time Council member. He was part of the Dental Council of New South Wales and has also been a member of several national and bi-national dentistry bodies, including the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Dr Chan is Adjunct Associate Professor with the School of Dentistry at Charles Sturt University (Wagga Wagga campus) and a Former Specialist Clinical Associate (Undergraduate and Postgraduate students) with the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Dentistry.
