Calls for better training of medical workers treating patients with disabilities

For many Australians with cognitive disability, maintaining good oral health can be a problem, with some having to rely on others to brush their teeth. Some are unable to express when they’re in pain and there are only 17 special needs dentists across the country.

Ahead of a public inquiry looking at the education and training for medical practitioners, one mum speaks about the years struggling to access treatment for her son.
