A top paediatric dentist says parents should stop feeding their kids ready meals and fizzy drinks after new figures show an increasing number of children are being hospitalised for dental cavities.

Dr Raphael, who lives in Balgowlah Heights, said the northern beaches community was polarised, with a small section of the population on top of the risk factors.

But she warned the majority are setting their kids up for a future with dental problems and other health concerns.
