ADA NSW represents its members in advocacy and lobbying efforts and in developing healthy government relations to facilitate the best outcomes for the dentistry profession. More specifically, we lobby government on issues that affect the regulation and practice of dentistry in NSW and the ACT to assist members deliver the best possible standard of care for patients. The Branch also seeks to influence public policy to improve community oral health. We work with government and non-government agencies, particularly on issues relating to access to affordable and appropriate dental care for the whole community.

The federal body of the Australian Dental Association lobbies and provides recommendations to the Federal Government on issues relating to dentistry at a national level. In our role as representative and advocate for the dentistry profession, we also develop submissions targeted directly at government bodies and groups, as archived below.


Government Submissions

The Branch has recently provided comments to the NSW Govenment on policy matters including the NSW Health Model Scopes of Clinical Practice for Senior Medical and Dental Practitioners Discussion Paper; Guidelines and Commencement of s176BA of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW); NSW Health discussion paper on the Statutory Review of the Health Practitioner Regulation Regulation National Law; and the NSW Oral Health and Ageing: Strategic Plan 2015-2020 (Oral Health and Ageing)
