Professor Elizabeth Martin, Dr Steven Cohn, Dr Richard Chan and Dr Douglas Thornton from NSW were among a distinguished group of dentists’ recognised nationally in this year’s Australia Day Honours list for significant service to the profession.

OFFICER (AO) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION

Professor Elizabeth Martin
Professor Martin was awarded an Officer (AO) in the General Division for
her distinguished service to dental education as an academic and researcher, and to professional organisations.

MEMBER (AM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION 

Dr Steven Cohn
Dr Cohn was awarded a Member (AM) for his significant service to dentistry, particularly to endodontology.

MEDAL (OAM) IN THE GENERAL DIVISION 

Dr Richard Chan
Dr Chan was awarded a Medal (OAM) for his service to dentistry.

Dr Douglas Thornton
Dr Thornton was awarded a Medal (OAM) for his service to dentistry in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
