The Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology

The Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology (GDDI) is an accredited diploma provided by ADA NSW Centre for Professional Development and Charles Sturt University School of Dentistry and Health Science.

The GDDI is an 18-month, part-time comprehensive program consisting of detailed instruction and of dental implant placement and restoration practice. This program enables participants to become more confident in the incorporation of dental implant supported prostheses for general dental practice.

Application Process

Entry into the Graduate Diploma of Dental Implantology consists of three steps: an Expression of Interest, Written Application and a Professional Interview.

STEP 1 – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
2027 Expression of Interest notifications are NOW OPEN. Click here and register your interest and details. You will be contacted in the Spring of 2024 and provided with further information.

STEP 2 – WRITTEN APPLICATION
Following your expression of interest submission, you will be contacted and invited to submit a Written Application in Spring 2025.

STEP 3 – PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW
Based on the selection criteria, a proportion of applicants will be selected to participate in a short interview. Interviews will be held in person with an interview panel comprising of staff from both the University and the Australian Dental Association (NSW).

Selection Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for entry to the course:

  • Hold current AHPRA registration as a dentist
  • Have at least two (2) years postgraduate clinical experience
  • Co requisite completed by the end of the first subject (DOH505). The ITI Certificate in Implant Dentistry Foundation Level can be undertaken through ADA NSW CPD or online from ITI.org.
  • Demonstrate an interest in the use of dental implants
  • Discussion of previous restorative case experience

Additional Information

  • Entry into the Graduate Diploma is only available for Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents
  • Up to 24 participants will be selected via the written application and interview process
