Clinical Periodontics: Understanding the New Classifications, Genetic Susceptibility and Division of Management and Maintenance of Patients with Periodontal Diseases
The course is structured to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of various classifications of periodontal diseases, alongside their etio-pathogenesis. Clinicians will acquire in-depth knowledge regarding the spectrum of periodontal conditions and the critical factors that influence their progression. Participants will investigate the significant relationships between periodontal diseases and systemic health issues, including but not limited to cardiovascular events, cerebrovascular accidents, diabetes mellitus, obesity, complications during gestation, and Alzheimer’s disease. Moreover, participants will develop a foundational understanding of Oral Medicine lesions and will be introduced to diverse biopsy techniques relevant to periodontology. The course will also address the indications and prerequisites for surgical and reparative management strategies pertinent to periodontitis. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants gain a well-rounded appreciation of both practical applications and theoretical frameworks necessary for proficient periodontal care.
Afternoon Session
PERI-IMPLANT DISEASES: DIAGNOSES, PREVENTION AND STEP-BY-STEP MANAGEMENT (NON-SURGICAL TO SURGICAL) – Didactic, Treatment Planning and Hands-on (Acrylic Model) Exercise
This one-day didactic and hands-course is for clinicians who would like to learn and incorporate non-surgical management of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis into their daily practice. The course will also discuss biological and restorative risk factors to peri-implant diseases. It will also provide insights into basic surgical, reconstructive/regenerative skills in management of peri-implantitis. The presenter’s published protocol and other new and advanced techniques and indications for non-surgical and surgical management of peri-implant diseases will be covered. Basic surgical skills are a pre-requisite to the course. Delegates will get to practice the techniques on pigs’ jaw and peri-implantitis plastic model.
