Theodore completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery training at the University of Adelaide in 2009. Following a year of working in regional Queensland, he moved to Tasmania and commenced general dental practice Tasmania at The Dental Surgery, Newstead until 2018. During this period of his career, he learnt to appreciate the importance of periodontology in dental health. This continuous pursuit of knowledge led to undertaking full time postgraduate specialist training at the University of Melbourne, where he honed his knowledge and skills in the treatment of periodontal disease and dental implantology.
He successfully completed his final written and clinical examinations in 2021. His final thesis was on medications and implant failure with a specific focus on antidepressants and proton pump inhibitors.
Since returning to the Apple Isle, he now consults out of the rooms of Launceston Periodontics and Hobart Periodontics. Midweek, he maintains his academic instructor role for Doctor of Dental Surgery students at the University of Melbourne, teaching via electronic correspondence that became the norm during COVID-19 lockdowns.
Much of his spare time after returning home to Tasmania is dedicated to seeking peace and health by running along the scenic roads and mountains trails the State has to offer. He has also reexperienced the immense joys and challenges of learning music and is working towards mastery of Bach’s Partita No. 3 on the violin.
