Vahid completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2010. After working in public and private practice, his passion for research and learning led him to complete a PhD at James Cook University (JCU). His interest in biofilm formation on dental and implant surfaces motivated him to complete a Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology (GDipDImplant). His clinical experience with implant surgeries led him to seek specialist training in Periodontology.
Vahid completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) at the University of Sydney. His thesis focused on the use of dietary supplements to enhance periodontal treatment outcomes. Vahid recognises the role that oral health plays in overall health and well-being. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve and maintain periodontal health.
Vahid has always enjoyed combining clinical practice and working as an academic. He served as a Senior Lecturer, coordinator of dental school subjects and clinical mentor at James Cook University and the University of Sydney. He is an active member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), Osteology Foundation and Australian Dental Association (ADA).
Vahid now calls Hobart home and looks forward to exploring more of Tasmania’s walks and food culture in his spare time.
