In this lecture Professor Grant Townsend takes us through the clinically relevant anatomy to perform the inferior alveolar nerve block. In addition to giving details of the normal anatomy, this lecture also brings to our attention common anatomical variations which may lead to local anaesthesia failure through the use of schematic diagrams and prosections.
