Victorian update on COVID-19 and dentistry

Victoria has recorded 725 new coronavirus cases and 15 new deaths — the highest daily totals in the state since the pandemic began.

With regards to dentistry, the Victorian Branch has been providing members with regular updates. ADA VB met with the Department of Health and Human Services and Dental Health Services Victoria yesterday to get an update on the current situation in Victoria. This follows ongoing consultations with the Chief Health Officer and Health Minister since the Victorian Government’s State of Disaster announcement on Sunday. Under the new government restrictions across Victoria, dental services will continue to operate, and people will be allowed to visit the dentist for necessary dental care, including if their dentist is more than 5km away.
