Young Australians aspiring dentists

A lot of young Australian’s want to grow up to be dentists. Almost 3,400 children aged 14 to 15 were asked what job they would like to have in the future, and dentist, doctor or healthcare professional was the most common answer. The teens were surveyed about their career aspirations as part of Growing Up in Australia: The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children, conducted by the Australian Institute of Family Studies in partnership with the Department of Social Services and the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Of the 59 per cent said they would like to be dentists, doctors or healthcare professionals, with those fields nominated by more girls than boys.
