Congratulations to all of the outstanding recipients of the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours which were announced over the weekend.

ADA NSW Member Dr Pamela Gower has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) this year in recognition of her significant contribution to the dental profession.

Dr Gower is currently working as a staff specialist at Westmead Centre for Oral Health. She has left an indelible mark in the field of Forensic Odontology.

As a forensic odontologist, Dr Gower has spent years tirelessly delving into the intricacies of dental evidence, uncovering the hidden stories that lie within the teeth and jaws of victims and unidentified individuals.

Through sheer talent and dedication, Dr Gower has made extraordinary contributions that have touched the lives of many since she graduated in 1983.

Beyond her technical proficiency, Dr Gower possesses an exceptional ability to empathise with the families and loved ones of the deceased. Her compassionate approach to work not only brings solace and closure to those affected by tragedy but also serves as a testament to her unwavering commitment to serving humanity.

Dr Gower’s contributions to the field of forensic odontology have not only elevated the standards of practice but have also advanced our collective understanding of the intricate science behind dental identification.
